from the A&SH tray..........Cyprus, military intelligence informed us that Colonel Grivas was in a Greek Cypriot mountain village. Operation 'Kingfisher' was mounted and a massive cordon of troops surrounded the village during the night. Each soldier was lying 10 yards apart with instructions to shoot anyone who moved. Middle of the night, a machine gun goes off. Everybody was petrified, but no one dared move. |

Whit a set o' minks - diggin fur oil wi' mugs! Sadly, 'Big Balla' McIntyre died at a very young age. He was a very popular guy with a devilish sense of Highland humour which kept us all laughing! He had some of the most amusing sayings, e.g. "Were you on the lorry when you fell off?", and "You go first and I'll go before you!" |
