Yon lofty perch amang the clouds,
built awa back in histories shrouds.
Where auld streets and pavement wind,
yet a Scottish gem ti aw mankind.

The pipers stroll out from the mist,
ti cheers an’ delight o’ foreign guest.
Wains aw smiles and wonderment,
while Dad sips Scotch and is content.

Lasses dance the Highland fling,
while choir superb makes gatehouse ring.
The American bands wi’ brass and dash,
assails the ear as cymbals crash.

This feast of music and friendly jest,
is humanity at it’s very best.
If all could copy this annual applause,
we could say goodbye to future wars.
