The first meeting in 54 years of Captain Jim Masson GM and Ray Vearnals (left).

Lt Jim Masson was at that time the Pioneer Platoon Commander in which he and Ray served together in Palestine in 1947.

Jim was awarded the George Medal for bomb disposal work in Palestine in 1948.

The award of the George Medal for bomb disposal work is very rarely given to an Infantryman, so Jim is almost unique in this respect.
