We came on this Russian War Memorial somewhere on Sennelager Ranges.

The inscription (In English) says "HERE REST RUSSIAN SOLDIERS, TORMENTED IN FASCISTIC CAPTIVITY. ETERNAL MEMORY TO OUR COMRADES"

75000 are buried near this spot. The Company Commander, Major John Graham, told us that they were probably used as slaves and neither fed nor clothed.

He went on to say that the figure of 75000 buried in the field, represented 20% of the total British deaths in WW2.
