Photo © Norman McKay 		These are the tanks and self propelled (SP) guns used by the Bundeswehr.

The tanks were M47 US Tanks and the SP guns mounted a 105mm Howitzer gun on a tank chassis.

I remember our "tankies" commenting on the fact that the American and German Armoured vehicles were driven by diesel engines, while the British Army was firmly committed to petrol.
