We used to get a few stares en route as this was only 15 years after the end of WW2 and the sight of armoured vehicles on the road must have brought back many unhappy memories for some people.

The Battalion stayed the night in Halterm Training Area. I seem to remember 'D' Coy having a terrific party where we all had to perform party pieces - most of them hilarious and unprintable!
