In August 1964 the band of the Argylls visited Sydney for the British Trade Fare that was held there in August that year.

As part of the visit we played at a Tattoo at the Royal Agricultural Showground and this photograph shows part of the display put on by the massed pipes and drums of the Argylls and several Sydney pipe bands.

The showground has been converted and is now the FOX Movie Studios, but although the site has been developed, all of the original buildings have been retained.

This tour was the reason I now live in Sydney, rather than the UK.
